Like, how are you, really? Take a moment to check in. Try to go beyond the basic "glad, sad, mad, bad". Here's a list of feelings from our workbook, in case you need some guidance:
Chances are you have several, conflicting feelings right now. Are you feeling heartbroken, depressed, or scared by the results of the election? Do you also feel awe and joy as you witness the seasons changing? That's so human of you!
Here's another question: How are your emotions impacting your creative practice? Can you feel depressed/lonely/disillusioned and motivated to create at the same time?
The truth is you don't have to feel good to be creative. Sure, being "in the zone" is fun and satisfying, but we can't wait until we feel good to create the world we want to live in. We need to build the resilience to create even when things are messed up, because that's how we can create change.
Don't push down your difficult emotions. That doesn't work. The necessary (and more complicated) task is tending to your emotions while continuing to show up, build community, and keep creating.

Keep Practicing:
The assignment this week is to continue practicing, however you are feeling, in whatever capacity you can. It doesn't have to feel good. It doesn't have to be good. It just has to happen, even a little bit.
¡Reminder: rest and reflection are also part of your practice!

We love you, and we hope you are safe.

We'll be back in 2 weeks.

Until then, keep practicing!
