Hello Friends! Welcome back to Practice Practice.
This week we're thinking about parallel practice. Parallel practice is when you meet up with other creative people to hone your craft and socialize. Think "Stitch and Bitch" clubs and quilting circles. At these gatherings, our creative foremothers met up to make textiles, swap supplies, share knowledge, and organize political action.
Parallel practice has plenty of benefits:
- Knowledge and skill sharing
- Building relationships and community
- Sharing or trading materials
- Routine
- Accountability
- Peer support
Parallel practice doesn't have to be serious or well-organized. It is a great opportunity to break out of your solo practice and have some fun!

Creativity Date Practice:
Make plans to be creative with another person. Invite a friend to write poems in the cemetery, try new cookie recipes, or make masks for Halloween.

Lately, we've been drawing still lives with our friend Cecilia Otero.

We'll be back in 2 weeks.
